A note for first year PhD students (or it does get better).

Writer's picture: Jason ThatcherJason Thatcher

The end of the first semester is the toughest.

You have likely been challenged.

You are likely wondering about your choice to earn a PhD

You may be questioning your sanity.

Remember.

You are there for a reason.

A committee selected you from dozens.

You are capable.

Study.

Take the exams.

Rest up.

Enjoy the holidays.

Know.

It does get easier.

You are exercising new muscles.

You control your destiny.

Just think.

When you finish.

The first semester will be a distant memory.

The future will be pregnant with possibilities.

See you in the Spring!
