Congratulations to Manju Ahuja! For being named as AIS Fellow.

Manju was one of the first people to mentor me in the Information Systems field. At the time, she was an assistant professor, and I was an uppity doc student. Despite my inability to keep a schedule, Manju kept up with me, ensured we finished the paper and shepherded it through publication at a pretty good outlet, MIS Quarterly.

Manju left Florida State while I was a doc student. She went on to do great things at Indiana University and the University of Louisville. Yet, she kept up with me over the years, checking in on my progress, offering words of encouragement, and nudging me to get my act together. And, eventually, due to mentors like Manju, I did.

Manju is so much more than a mentor, she is a multifaceted academic leader - making seminal contributions to our understanding of gender and the IT workforce, virtual communities, and more, leading an essential division of the Academy of Management, serving as Senior Editor at MIS Quarterly & Information Systems Research, and ticking the boxes on service to her college - spending years as Department Chair.

This Fall, I was delighted to join dozens of her mentees, friends, and colleagues in nominating Manju to earn the honor of AIS Fellow. And, this Winter, I was even more delighted to learn the selection committee picked her from a competitive pool of deserving scholars.

Congratulations Manju! You have touched many lives! And have earned this honor!
