I spent time this past month thinking about how to evaluate whether I was a good advisor.

I realized it wasn’t just modeling myself after my mentors - who were amazing advisors.

It meant adapting and growing with the changing population of #phdstudents.

It meant doing so, so that i understood how to manage and motivate PhD students.

So that I can better prepare them for #academiclife and equip them with the tools needed to survive academic life.

I do so, because more than becoming an advisor like my mentors.

I want to grow into the advisor that I wanted - in tune enough with modern life and tough enough to teach your students how to navigate the good and bad of academic life.
