On persistence.
Ten years or so after graduating, Michael Dinger converted his dissertation to a top flight publication.
Through three rejections, additional data collection, and five rounds of revision, Mike persisted in refining and improving his work.
This is enough to say kudos.
But there is more, along the way, Mike raised two of the nicest kids that you might ever meet.
I tip my hat to him - he is the most underrated scholar in my field and the best dad that I know.
I could not be prouder to have him as my coauthor and to have advised his dissertation.
Every once in a while, the good guys win!
