FINALLY, I had a paper cross 1,000 citations... feels pretty good.
As a doc student, you see the trees and not the forest ... which is how I felt when working on this paper ... it felt like we were never going to find our way out of the woods!
My mentor, Manju Ahuja, never gave up on the paper ... she showed me the way .. and took our ideas from abstractions in the ether to reality in a publication.
I'll never forget thanking her, and her response was so positive and optimistic: "don't worry about it, just be kind to the next student."
And so I have - picking up and helping students here and there as my career has progressed.
Thanks again Manju! You have made an enormous difference in my career! And many more!
